A penpal from a French nursery

Hi, I have been living in England for three years and I worked as a nursery assistant in two differents nurseries. To day I am back to France and I passed an exam in order to work in France with children. I defenitively miss England, the language, your culture,... That 's why I write you this letter. I would like to find someone to talk about the way we work with children and their parents. I bet we can get a lot from these discussions.

After reading your post I was wondering if you wouldn't mind being my siunding board for this next problem. If posible coul I send you a list of questions etc to compare how your nursery runs with mine/ Dont worry if you dont fancy it, it was just a thought!!!! Thanks

Hi Janny and Vivi,

just wondered if you guys were still on this forum, and if so, could you give me a hand at all - I am wanting to research the process of becoming a nanny in France and the difference in qualification (if there are any) between the UK and France.

I hope I am not too late and can get some information from either or both of you!

Many thanks

Helen

Hi what age children do you work with? I work for a private day nursery and was wondering if the children you work with would be interested in setting up a penpal system between the uk and france? just basic letters and pictures etc, as I think this would benefit the children loads?

Hi Mia,

I work with children aged 6 months to around 6/7 yrs old. The only thing is that the children I work with are english as it is nannying for english clients/holiday makers.

If you like, when I am back in France, I can investigate into the local school to see if they are involved in anything like this and see what they say? I think its a school from aounr 4yrs to 10yrs, would this fit in with your age group? Maybe we can set something up!

Helen

 Hi Janny,

Thanks anyway! Are you still in contact with Vivi as she may know the process of becoming a nanny in France (I gathered that she was French? or am I wrong?) Any help would be grately appreciated as I am already a nanny in the French Alps and wondered about getting properly qualified.....

Thanks again in advance!!!!!
