Well what do you wish to achieve at the end of your dissertation?

But for what purpose? Why gardening and not carpentry?

early years because they get so much out of it

What i'm trying to get at is... The hypothesis sets up the problem to be explored and its importance to the field of study to which the research belongs.
Why do you wish to do gardening over any particular subject? You say because they get so much out of it, so why dont more nurseries use it? Money, training, resources etc...

So your hypothesis could be based on these things. You will basically state what you believe your research will prove.

You might even do a complete turn around and say "children who garden, live healthier lifestyles. This is due to their increased understanding of growing and eating fresh vegetables and fruit"
Just ideas.... You need to think of something more than just an area that you'd like to research
