The EYFS and Montessori

The EYFS and Montessori

Does anyone know what happens if you register as a Montessori Nursery with regards to the EYFS? Do Ofsted still send Montessori trained inspectors to inspect or is everyone solely EYFS. All this "you must do EYFS" eliminates choices for parents if this is the case. After attending training courses, reading the books, talking to professionals I have decided that ether;

a) Nobody has a clue how to properly implement the EYFS
b) Its total crap
c) I like bananas
d) All of the above

Getting quite mad with people poncing around pretending to be the be all and all of EYFS.

I have never heard of a Montessori trained Ofsted Inspector.

anyone can call themselves a  Montessori Nursery !  You can choose to register with MCI London (or the other organisation who's name I forget) but you don't have to, and they have quite a strict criteria if you want to be affiliated with them.  Many Montessori Nursery's are not affiliated and I am sure it makes no difference to Ofsted.

Montessori Nurseries have always justified themselves and stood up to Ofsted.  They often recieve inspection reports which do not do their good work justice.    I do not own a Montessori Nursery but am quite prepared to be criticised by Ofsted for putting two fingers up to certain parts of EYFS.

What sort of people are "poncing around"?  lecturers ?

Monbtessori do have a document out - cant remember the full name, but it is something like Montessori working in partnership with EYFS  or the other way round.  It tells you how to encompass both practices and how they compliment each other.  I ran across it whilst doing a google search for something - so it is out there somewhere

Isn't montessori so interesting? A montessori practitioner helped to write the EYFS.
