Hi everyone,
I have been working in childcare for more years than I care to remember and during this time have had wonderful experiences of children coming out with pricless sayings. For example 1 child use to refer to McDonalds as Mc Don Dons, when asked why he called it Mc Don Dons, he said 'because I can't say McDonalds'. Believe me it was hysterical at the time. I have been collecting these little ditties for a few years now and I would like to ask all of you if you would share yours. Please ask your colleagues & parent if they have any and post them on the site for me. I am hoping that I can get enough to be put in a book. Your help would be great.
Many thanks in advance.

Today in Nursery I got the sandpit out for the children to play in. To expand their learning I asked them what the sand felt like in their hands, one of the 2year old children replied, 'it feels like a flower top.' I asked why, and she said 'because it feels like flower', I think she may have ment Flour. It made me chuckle as it didnt seem to make any sense but she knew what she ment and believed every word she was saying.

One day in my nursery setting I was asking each child in turn what their parents names were. On asking a little boy what his daddy was called he said "daddy" I replied "you call him daddy but what does mummy call him" The little boy replied " A pain in the bum". That did make me chuckle.

My daughter once said she had "pins and noodles" in her feet after she had been sitting down for a long time. She is eight now and we still laugh about it.

my 2 year old nephew was eating a packet of crisps at home and he tipped them all over the carpet. when his mum told him to pick them up, he did, but he put them all into his 'bob the builder' slippers. when she asked him why, he replied that 'bob was hungry'.

My two and a half year old daughter has chicken pox at the moment. On the phone to my mum on saturday she proudly announced that she had "coco pops" on her tummy!
