Could you name them after trees/flowers/birds/animals. or after a life cycle, so something caterpillar, caccoon, butterfly (thats a rubbish example i know) but you can see my point!

We named our rooms after colours. Yes this may have been thought boring by some but it was then so easy to colour co-ordinate files, management books , childrens' bags etc. It made life so much more simple

When on placement the rooms were named
Jelly babies, Jelly Tots and Jelly Beans
At my current setting we are simply BU, C1, C2 and C3
It depends on how many rooms you have but i like the idea of animals from the wood, or trees, Giant Oaks being the last room and a smaller tree for the babies.

Just a thought how about naming the rooms after bears,
Teddies, Pandas, Koalas Polars etc, or may be other zoo animals that are not used very often, Hippos, along the Afican theme, sealions, dolphins along the sea theme. The lists are endless really, Let us know what you choose.

Ours are named after the life cycle of a swan.
0-1 is Nestlings
1-18 months is Fledglings
18m-2 is Cygnets
2-3 is swans
Then our pre school's are just Kindergarten 1 and 2.
I think they're quite sweet.

How about; squirrels, hedgehogs, robins and ladybirds obviously depending on how many rooms you got, my nurseries rooms are called caterpillars, ladybirds [my room], bumblebees and butterflies!

Ours are Bunnies, Otters, Squirrels and Owls, but I think 'discovers, explorers and inventors' are excellent names! Very clever,

at my setting the rooms are simply babies, toddlers and pre-school but we find it funny that the children have re-named them we have the "the little baby room"(babies), "the big room"(toddlers) and "the big big room"(pre-school) we dont know where or who started it but even now the staff and parentsc all the rooms by their new names.
so maybe now ecspecialy the EYFS is a big fan of children's choice and getting parents involved why dont you ask them or do a compition. or come up with a few suggestions and ask the children and parents which they perfer because dont forget the children and parents need to like the new names.
