Has anyone completed the EYPS short pathway (6 months), and if so how did you find it?
im a bit confused as to what is actually involved, e.g. is there assignments or a portfolio to complete or is assessment just through being observed in the setting.

A bit of a delayed reply but I did the short pathway. There are assignments and a portfoilio to complete. Your assessor will also come to your setting but this is not to observe you with the children but for you to show them around and talk about the things you have contributed to and how they link to the EYPS standards. It is a lot of hard work but I quite enjoyed it!! (once I got my head around what was expected of me!!)

the short pathway is no different really to the validation apart from you have six months instead of three month. all pathways have portfilio's and assignments to complete. you also have the option of doing online modules but these are not a requirment and you can do them in about 1-2 hours. hope this helps.
