Hi
I am a nursery teacher working in a nursery attached to a Primary school. Every year we have to do an assembly and I just wondered if anyone can help with any good ideas!! Most of the kids are second english language speakers so we need something that doesn't require too much talk!! In the past I have acted some of our favourite stories (Walking Through the Jungle, Monkey Puzzle etc) But this year i am having a mental block!! Woukld really appreciate some help. Thanks

what about a simple dance to music? Maybe a song thats popular with the children, chart music or nursery rhymes

HELLO
This is one of my favourite subjects. I work in a special school and so my assemblies require little language understanding but lots of interaction with the school. What sort of format do your assemblies take?
There are three great book and CD sets that have a story to catchy rhythm recited to music on CD they include actions and lend them selves to story sacks/ props. I have used these books which are called Creepy Crawly Calypso, We All Go Travelling By and Animal Boogie as a base for assemblies available from http://www.barefoot-books.com and book shops.
