Hi, can anyone tell me what the nneb qualificaion gained in 1994 is equivalant to today? Thanks

This qualification IS equivalent to the NVQL3 and don't lat anyone tell you otherwise. As long as you have kept up to date with changes in childcare, ie. L

Oops pressed the wrong button. As long as you are up to date with the Learning Goals/Foundation stage changes in child protection/Ofsted etc your qualification is as good as anyone elses. It is still recognised, you do not need to undertake a L3 or anything else.

Yep thats right it is also equivalent to DCE LEVEL 3 (Diploma in childcare and education) u wont lose out on anything having the nneb its exactly the same just DCE is the new updated version, like joshuajones said know about ofstead requirements, standards of care, development the same, and the policys on child protection because they do change about paths you have to take etc, u can or could do anything.

Before you embarrass yourself by following the advice already given, I would strongly recommend that you research your qualification through the proprer channels.

You have not stated what level of NNEB you hold. Is it the:
Certificate in Nursery Nursing (NNEB)
Diploma in Nursery Nursing (NNEB)
Diploma in Nursery Nursing (Integrated Scheme) (NNEB)
NNEB Diploma in Post-qualifying Studies (NNEB)
Preliminary Diploma in Nursery Nursing (NNEB)?

You can check for yourself what your qualification will enable you to do. Log onto this website -
www.dfes.gov.uk/childrenswfqualifications/index.cfm

Follow the link for 'Practitioners' and select the question 'I want to check what a specific early years or playwork qualification enables a person to do'.

'joshuajones' and 'crusty clown' do have a valid point when they say you must have kept up to date with relevent changes in curriculum, child protection etc.

You would not embarrass your self by following the advice given.
The Certificate in Nursery Nursing, The Diploma in Nursery Nursing, The Diploma in Nursery Nursing Integrated Studies, The Diploma in Post Qualifying Studies are ALL Level 3 Equivalent and are all acceptable. The Preliminary Diploma is equivalent to a L2 which would still be a qualified post but you would not be able to take on a supervisory role.

I re-iterate, do not follow the advice given that 'the nneb qualification gained in 1994 IS equivalent to the NVQL3 or the DCE level 3'.

As I recommended, research your qualification. You have not stated the level of NNEB you hold and if it is the Preliminary Certificate in Nursery Nursing (NNEB), which was available in 1994, this IS NOT equivalent to a level 3. If you go in all guns blazing to an employer or to an Ofsted Inspector, or indeed anyone who knows anything about qualifications with the advised attitude of 'don't let anyone tell you otherwise', you will look very silly and ill-informed.

The Certificate in Nursery Nursing was available in 1998 - 1990 and is equivalent to a L3.
The Diploma in Nursery Nursing was available in 1989 - 1997 and 1993-1994 and is equiavalent to L3.
Diploma in Nursery Nursing Integrated studies available in 1992 - 1996 is equivalent to L3, The Diploma in Post Qualifying studies available in 1993 is equivalent to L3.
The Preliminary Diploma in Nursery Nursing available in 1992 - 1994 is equivalent to a L2.

The DCE- diploma in childcare is equivalent to level 3 also.
