hi Tara4
The firm foundations booklet which goes with the new OFSTED inspection format is a good starting point. The booklet gives you examples of what a 'good' setting would look like.It explains which standards are linked with the 5 new areas for grading you on (being health, staying safe, making a positive contribution, enjoying and achieving and management)I would suggest looking at the standards book and cross referencing to the firm foundations booklet to see if you meet all the criteria. If you do then you know you are 'good'. If you dont meet all the criteria at the moment, dont worry. Give your self a lower mark and work out how you will go about improving things.
Your operational plan is a good place to evidence this. We have just begun re-doing our plan under the 5 new areas. All your policies are evidence, as well as your plans, aims and objectives.
We are going to review ours every 2 months. This gives us enough time to impliment any changes we need to make.
Hope this has helped you. Let me know how you get on
