I am currently looking for a new job as nursery nurse or maybe some sort of job in childcare working in childrens centres or surestart working with the baby massage classes, messy play etc but I can not find any jobs for surestart adevrtised anywhere. I check job site websites, local papers etc but nothing. Does anyone know where surestart adevrtise their jobs, it's a mustery to me, there are a number of these centres near where I live but no jobs ever seem to be advertised.

surestart jobs are very rare to find because they offer good pay and normally are good employers with many benefits. not many people leave once they are in. i work for surestart and we were a new centre when i got the job. do you know if there are going to be any new surestart centre in your area cause that is the only way you will get a job.

try the nhs website, search in the careers section there is always surestart jobs posted but they tend to be mainly temporary work say six months, becasue they often dont know how much funding they will get for the future!

They advertise in the local papers and on the jobcentreplus.

They are very rare to come by and often have many applicants too. We have had a few lately for near me but this is the first time in months i have seen them

Goodluck though

I currently work for sure start and my job was advertised on the local council website, it depends who the centre is funded by.We have 4 children centres in our area, 2 are run by the local government and the others are Nhs.

the Nhs site is worth looking at, so is 4children.

they are hard to come across though as once your there you dont want to leave.

If you wanted to do somthing that involes baby massage and play etc, a community Nusery nurse is good.

good luck

Hi ive just recently got a job with sure start doing what you want to do baby massage etc, I was working on supply at  one centre and am now going to another. The job was advertised on the local council website and in the local paper. If there arnt any adverticed here try and get supply in one and then you are  entitled to apply for the ones that are advertised internally ie on the intranet that only people working in the council settings can see

good luck
