Sorry for not explaining correctly. Excellent ideas already posted, you could use the hands or footprints with a poem.I have a peom about a cuddle its realy nice if you want me to post it on here then let me know. Make a peacock, Make the calendar into the shape of a goldfish bowl and use the hands as fish (palm is where the eye goes.

How about shape house, tractor, lorry, car?

Finger painting

The seasons card is split into four alow the children to colour, glue, stick on different things to represent the seasons;
Sun/Summer
Leaf or a collect some twigs and stick them onto the card/Autumn
Snow drop or snowman/Winter
Flower/Spring

I hope that this helps you some more, Christmas is always the dreaded time when you always seem to run out of ideas. If I was a parent I wouldnt mind what was on my calendar as long as I thoughht that my child had done the work and not the nursery nurse. It shouldnt be perfect although I know that some of us do like to see our own work and not the children we are caring for. (Im not implying anything agaisnt you, just speaking from experience)

Once again good luck, it would be nice to hear how yu go on.

With handprints, you could an angel. Do a hand print with fingers down for body. And do one either side with fingers facing up, for wings. Then get the child to use their fingers to paint a circle for face. I have done this with toddlers, and although it is hard work and some of them don't look like angels, the children do enjoy it.
I have also done flowers, or animals, i.e hedgehog, spider, reindeer.

Jcab, glad to be of some help. If you are doing the goldfish bowl I'm not sure the poem will go with it, but you can always save it for another time.

THE CUDDLE

I'd rather have a cuddle than a video.
I'd rather have a cuddle than anything I know.....
I'd rather have a cuddle than ketchup, chips or peas.
A computer would be lovely- but a cuddle's what I need.

i made rockets with 2 year olds last year. cut out the rocket on card and use marbles to paint it. then stick it onto an A4 piece of card and if possible put child's picture in the rocket window.

Hi

I’m just planning to make a advent calendar, I look after two child aged 2 and I’m starting to do this activity with them. What I have done is get a old piece of wallpaper on the back I have drawn a Christmas tree to a length of my living room door, the children have started to decorate the card balls and other items that will be used to decorate the tree. I have also will be letting them use different colours of tinsel for the tree, I have coloured the tree in myself (a green tree and a snowy back ground) Some of the balls will have a little chocolate treats in them and a small toy.

The two children are enjoying themselves decorating the items that the children will be gluing and taping on the tree. A few weeks of activities as it’s a big tree same size of the door so lots of items to do for the tree.

Hope this as help?
