If the management don't try to be 'friends'with their staff hopefully all the bitching can be directed upwards - this makes for a 'them and us' culture but it bonds all the 'us's' together far better than team games unfortunately.
Make sure all the nasty stuff is shouldered by management - hiring,firing,disciplining.

It is quite hard not to 'be friends' with the managment. i worked really hard as a nursery nurse taking the good with the bad. and eventually i got promoted and i still had my old friends. what should i have done? where do my loyalities lie!

Stop the bitching.
You cannot possibly do adequate childcare/devlopment if you indulge in bitching with colleagues. Remember you are teaching the new generation and when they become adults, you would be have beeb seniors. How would you want them to behave towards you?

I left 2 or three places because of the bitchyness.

in in nursery i found that because i was from a different city and cause i travelled to and fro every day i was the victim.

i wasnt included in xmas do's , birthday partys, and even weddings of staff that all other personal were invited to!!!! the reason was given as.........





You cant drive and you live else where so we thought you couldnt make it!

They could of at least asked!
