Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me?

 I am in year 11 at school and plan on leaving next year to go to college to study childcare.

Would it be best if I did an apprenticeship [& advanced] in childcare or took up CACHE [up to level 3] in child care?

Which would you prefer?

Please help, I dont know what one to do!

It's important that you gain experience at the same time, and with an apprenticeship you will be doing, aswel as getting income from it. What letter will this get you?

 Sorry, I'm a little bit confused, what do you mean when you say what letter will this get you?

 I can achieve up to a NVQ3

Hi well i just left school this time and i went into the CACHE Level 3 what this course consists of is once you are on level 3 ... what i do is i spend a week at college and a week at a placement so i still get the practical experence and while you are at ur placement they give you tasks each week to complete. I was going to do an apprenticship and a few months before i was going to start my nursery closed down. then i realised what if this happened while i was doing my apprenticeship .. they sed that i would lose all my work and i would have to start from scratch because you cannot move apprenticeships whileyou are halfway through a year u have to start ur work again. I didnt want to risk this again so i decided that i wud go to college get qualified and then go to university and progress or just go out and find a job because once you have finished CACHE level 3 you are a fully qualified nursery nurse / early years practitionor as they have now changed the name !!

I did an N.N.E.B in the 'old days' now called CACHE. I did not know about N.V.Qs I'm not sure whether they were around then, but if I had my time over i would probably do an N.V.Q as you do get a small amount of money. Could you get a grant at where you would be studying if you did a CACHE? I was lucky my mother supported me through my studies.

 I don't think that I need a grant as I have pulic transport from my home to the school and also the course is free.

I was just wondering which one employers prefered.
