what do you all think about this? by 2015 all settings should have a level 6 (equivalent to teacher status) to manage the setting. how are we going to fund this? the transformation fund only allows £5000 for 2 years and of that £2500 only may be spent on the level 6. and during this time you are not allowed to put your fees up (even if you do this every year)

just enquired about doing a level 5. im a manager working with a level 3 btec and i can do a level 5 to top it up. im still confused on this whole issue. The owner is also going to train and pay for both of our 2 year degree. The people starting this plus the people in the training dept at our local council know very little about the level 6 etc - many of them had not heard of it and i kept getting switched to different people. If you do already have a level 6 working at your nursery apparently you get funding but if not you have to fund it off your own back. myself and the owner feel that its not fair a level 6 would get paid more than us until we are trained and then we would have to be on equal pay as the level of training we all have. just my thoughts :)
