Aplication help

I have been working at a local sure start childrens centre on supply since august and a post has now become avaialable for which I am going to apply. Any advice on the aplication would be very much apreciated. The aplication asks for me to show understanding of OFSTED standards and how to implement them, understanding of the child concern model of practise and understanding of the continuous provision model of practise. I'm just wondering how much detail do I go into on each and what is the child concern model of practise? any advice welcome many thanks

I am an experienced nursery manager and have, as part of my role, read through many applications. My advice to you would be to know your subject area well. You have listed the experience the children's centre is looking for, do your research, it's all there in the Birth to Three Matters Guidance, Curriculum Guidance for the Foundation Stage and the Daycare Standards.
You need to use your application form to sell yourself, don't assume that because you have worked in the setting on supply the job is automatically yours. If the application form asks for a statement supporting your application then use this to tell the selectors what you know and what you have done. Never underestimate the importance of this section.
Finally check your spelling and grammar, there is nothing worse than an application that is full of simple errors, it shows a lack of attention to detail and if you can't present yourself in the best light how can I trust you to look after the children well?
