Hi, I'm doing yet more research into the nursery project. I'm looking into uniforms and would like to know
1. What do you like ... polo shirts/tunics/hoodies etc ?
2. What's practical/comfy?
3. Where can I find decent ones?

Hi, You should give Bananamoon a look, they do a very good choice of uniforms, t shirts, polos, tunics, rugby shirts etc and all at very reasonable prices. I have used them loads in the past and they have always been very helpful and good quality. Good luck!!

I'd personally prefer poloshirts and they look smarter too. We have basic jumpers and also a fleece coat with the nursery logo on.

What's peoples views on tabards?
They're handy but not the most sexy item of clothing!

I'd like to use them but we haven't got them at moment. They're very handy for keeping things in the pocket, e.g. pens and tissues that are needed all the time. like you said not sexy, but useful!

We have polo shirts and tabards. The tabards are great cos you have the pockets for pens, tissues, notebooks, and all sorts of little toys that you find lying forgotten on the floor and slip in the pocket until you remember to put them in the box!

tabards. it depends on which image you are portraying to parents.
i think tabards make you look like cleaners!
we have nice tunic tops and staffs own trousers.. polo shirts are ok and a lot cheaper. you need to ask your staff team for ideas, and assess how much each item will cost.

Why would you want to look sexy ? Aren't we supposed to be educating and caring for the children, not trying to impress any random man that happens to walk on to the premises. Tabards practical and functional.

Sorry Joshuajones, maybe sexy wasnt the word I was looking for. lol!
People understand what I mean I'm sure, you don't want to be wearing an uniform that you feel uncomfy with.
So let me get this straight
work = practical
social = sexy !!!! :-}
I'm just interested as I feel staff will respect the uniform more if it's something they like. Cheers guys. x

having used both I much prefer sweatchirt and polo shirt to tabbard - tabbard are practical with the pocket but don't look as proffessional. I think fleeces with pockets or combt type trousers would look and feel better.

I think I've decided on Polo shirts and Sweatshirt, like hooded jackets but would be scared that the zip would scratch babies etc. x x x

I loved working in a polo shirt and jumper, comfy,cool and smart!

now i'm in a nurse's outfit and lets just say 'like a pig' comes in mind...not comfortable at all!!!
