Just  a little word of advice that I wish somene had shared with me, if you are thinking of a career change be prepared to struggle to find work if you have no previous experience of working with children. The level and quality of your childcare qualification does not always mean you are going to find the right role. I know people who have no qualifications but have done lots of supply and temporary work are seen as much more employable than those with high qualifications.    I and several of my friends, who have left uni with an early years degree, are constantly faced with negative comments due to the fact that we have little experience.  If you can either complete a qualification that is work based or try to do some supply work whilst you are studying.  Voluntary work can show that you are dedicated but is not recognised by all settings.  I have a friend who was offered a job as a nursery assistant but was only offered min. wage and told that the job entailed cleaning the premises and cooking and it would be a nine hour shift with only a half four break if staff ratios could be met (not a guarantee). After so much study she was so disheartened that she went back to her old profession.   Hope this is useful and doesn't dishearten you!!!
