I did the old D32 and D33 as part of teacher training. I've just up-dated tehm to A award. Hopefully you'll find the course really straight forward and helpful. It involves lots of transferable skills - observing, encouraging, helping candidates to express themselves ... and you might be able to earn some money from it too! A whole new career!

NVQ 3
Hi I am thinking of enrolling on the nvq 3 child care course but have been told I would have to sit a litercay test first as I have no A levels. Has anyone else had to sit the test? What is the test? How difficult?
Thanks

Hi,
I sat the A1 assessor award last year, and found it very easy and enjoyable. As a manager in our unit i needed to do it to observe students/staff etc. Definately worthwhile.

I have just sat the literacy and numercy test, the test was not too dreadfull and works out which level NVQ you should be working towards but please don't stress about it even if you get low scores. I scored a level 1 on the math and it is not a problem. Good Luck.
