Is it possible for you to split the group further from the ones who do walk and the ones that don't.
Also, try behaviour management. if they do hit sit them away from the group at the side. I know this sounds a bit extreme, but it does work, believe me! it will also show the newer children that it isn't acceptable to hit others.
