One of the reasons behind not saying things such as silly and naughty is because you would be labbeling the child, as are the terms good boy/girl. Its much better to praise them by saying for instance "well done for picking up those bricks" and concentrating on the right actions and not the wrong actions. However saying that we cant let the children get away with murder!! There are ways and means of getting your point across to the children by using positive and not negative language, and im sure every nursery nurse/nursery has their own way of doing this!!!
