Hi I gave my staff permission to wear vest tops in the same colour as their polo shirts provided they were decent and didnt show any cleavage!! AND as long as they wore their proper uniform polo shirts if they went outside of the nursery with the children. Staff were delighted with this and as I have been a NN myself I appreciated how hot staff can get and what effect this can have on their work etc. HOWEVER my line manager (not operations manager as we are not part of a chain) decided that it didnt look professional and the girls had to go back to wearing polo shirts, yes I argued the point with him but he wouldn't listen, girls of course were not happy but did it. Personally I would rather have comfortable happy, staff who look professional outside of the nursery and yes by the way they did look professional, vest all the same colour style etc and decent. You cant win!!!
