IMHO I found that agreeing with the child that this is what you're (mearning the both of you) are going to do, get rid of the nappies during the day and only use pants. Get plenty of spare clothes (aren't charity shops great!) and go for it. Ask the child regularly if they want to try - eg before going out, just after snack etc. Whatever you do - don't use the pull-up pants...kids just think their nappies and use them as such. Also - summertime with warmer weather is a better time. There must be nothing more uncomfortable than being wet in cold windy weather...brrrr...!!
