I am a writer at a broadsheet newspaper. I have been commissioned to write a big, positive feature about how childcare workers can feel deeply attached to the children they care for and how this is often not recognised by parents or by the kind of pay and conditions childcare workers have to deal with. I and my editor feel that we never read articles from the carer's point of view, always from the parent's point of view.
