I was reading the message re Christianity and I agree that childrens' spiritual needs are often overlooked with all the planning and pressure early years practitioners are under. Childen are naturally receptive and open and have an enquiring mind which can be enhanced by the introduction of spiritual issues. I am a Christian and know that the lacking in self esteem in many adults and not accepting of themselves can be because of not feeling they are worthy of love or acceptance. Jesus came to show us that we are all special and have a place. If we can teach that to the children of today then the adults of tomorrow may be more accepting of themselves and others and less likely to set themselves up to fail in modern society.
