Hi,owl begood.....hope you feel better today.....I own small private Nursery....check your age..with minimum wage...for 22 and over it is now £5.73......development level for 18 or 19 and over I think can be exploited......I pay according to qualifications....if an applicant for a job has bothered to train up genuinely(not SKIMMED her level 2 or 3) I pay accordingly....so my 19 year old has her level 2, nearly finished her level 3 earns more than you....and we all share planning, paperwork, responsibility for our own keyperson children paperwork. We all do observations...key element of the EYFS.The law says 15mins break every 4 hours I think....my staff can opt out of the break...but then have that 2 breaks combined as a PAID 30 min lunch...we don't have 'time off in lieu' it cannot work in small nursery everyone could leave 15 mins early each night and ratios could not be maintained....plus we share the cleaning...how can a team work like that ? Could you delegate? It sounds grossly unfair.......my staff are my most important asset...--- without them the Nursery would not be open...you have to treat staff with respect and appreciation,or as I hope is your choice...they go somewhere else.....Take care...
