in our last staff meeting we had a physio come into the nursery to give us a talk on our backs. Some of the things that they said to us was; don't sit on child size chairs as they will do nore harm than you think (in our nursery this is all that is available), if possible change a baby with them positioned in front of you rather to the side, pick them up crouched down with your knees bent. Also they suggested that exercise like pilates and yoga, these focus on posture and will strengthen the natural corset muscles that support the lower back
